Networking:                                     Return to Resume

Households as well as offices may have multiple computers.

If you’re paying for each one of them individually, try networking them. Thus sharing their devices, printers, scanners and most importantly the internet connection.

For example:

Dad has a Laser Jet, and the kids have a Color Ink Jet printer.  You can share these devises. Kids can print reports on Dad’s Laser Jet and Dad can print Invitations on the Kid’s Color Ink Jet.  Also, you need to be running, Windows 98 or higher as an Operating System.

For your home a point-to-point network will do.  You need a Hub, a Router and Modem and a NIC, Network Interface Card per computer. You may use a wireless setup, or hard wire with Cat 5 cable with RJ-45 connectors.

For a small office , you may use the same point-to-point configuration.  But for larger offices, you might want to run a server.  Giving you more control of the system.  This will require Windows 2000 Operating System, running on NT Technology or better.

E-Mail me and I will help you set it up.
